CBC News What are the top issues facing your municipality? The top issue facing the town of Amherstburg in my opinion is regaining the trust of the residents. We have had massive staff turnover and breaches of internal policies, and procedures identified through a KPMG Audit.  As well, creating an updated Community Based Strategic Plan is a must. Staff and the new council need to do this, to show the residents the “roadmap” on what the immediate needs are, how we will pay for those projects, and the timelines on completion. Communication and expectations must be in sync between council, staff and the residents.
